What do I need?

Xaman with some XRP. You can buy from 10 XRP. One order may move the FCAT price at most 3%; the page tells you if an amount is too large for the pool right now. You do not need a Flare wallet, FLR for fees, a bridge or an exchange.

Where is my FCAT?

In your own wallet on Flare (a Flare smart account). It belongs to your Xaman account: only a payment signed by that account can move anything in it, not us and not anyone else. You can look at it any time with "View on explorer".

At 100,000 FCAT or more it starts getting a share of FCAT's trading fees like any other holder, paid as XRP on Flare.

What is "XRP on Flare"?

XRP on Flare, backed one to one and redeemable for XRP through Flare's FAssets system (from 5 XRP at a time, for about 0.2%; you may see it called FXRP). When you buy, your XRP becomes XRP on Flare for a moment and is swapped into FCAT. When you sell, it is turned back into XRP on the XRP Ledger and paid to your Xaman account.

What does it cost?

Buying: Flare's minting fee (0.1%, at least 0.1 XRP) and a 0.3 XRP order fee, then FCAT's 4% trading fee, of which 2.4% goes to FCAT holders, and FlareCat's 1%. The amount shown already includes all of it.

Once, before your first trade: securing your Flare wallet is a 1 XRP instruction, of which about 0.6 XRP lands in your Flare wallet.

What if the price moves or something fails?

If the price moves past your protection, or your order cannot run within 30 minutes, nothing is traded: your XRP stays in your Flare wallet as XRP on Flare, and your FCAT stays where it is. The payment's minting and executor fees still apply.

When XRP is sent back, a Flare FAssets agent pays it out. If an agent fails to pay, Flare can compensate your Flare wallet from the agent's deposit in a stablecoin rather than XRP. Your Flare wallet then shows "Convert to XRP and send to Xaman": two approvals turn it into XRP in your Xaman account (the usual small fees apply, and the price protection you chose). If anything looks wrong, message us on Telegram.

What is "Secure your Flare wallet"?

A one-time Flare instruction, approved in Xaman like any payment (1 XRP, of which about 0.6 XRP lands in your Flare wallet). It tells your Flare wallet that only FlareCat's executor may run orders for it. Without it, someone watching Flare could run your order before us and pick a moment that makes it fail. Your funds would stay safe, but your trade would not happen.

You can undo it at any time with "Undo" on your Flare wallet card, and an undo always works, whoever holds the lock. Trading on this page needs it switched on.

Is it safe to approve?

Only approve the Xaman requests this page shows you. Each one is locked to your signed-in account and to the XRP Ledger mainnet, and sends XRP to Flare's official FAssets vault, not to a FlareCat address. A payment made any other way does nothing.

How it works under the hood

Your payment goes to Flare's FAssets Core Vault with a short memo that commits to exactly one instruction for your Flare smart account: for example, buy FCAT for at least the guaranteed amount within 30 minutes. Our executor proves the payment on Flare with Flare's data connector and runs that instruction; it cannot change it.
